Many folks ask us how we support ourselves financially and if there is one thing that we have a strong conviction about is what we call the "open door policy." In other words, we do not try to hide things behind closed doors. We like to be real about every area in our lives - especially when it comes to talking about money.
How We Handle Money
Firstly, we do not hide our bank balances from our team. Not only does our team know exactly what finances we have at all times, but they are also part of our decisions on how to allocate them!
For the most part we support our spiritual family and team using the income we receive from book sales and our school courses. When we invite someone to be a part of our team, not only are they paying a price, but so are we. We take on as much as we can and realize that it is our responsibility to take care of all spiritual and natural needs! There are some team members who have faithful families that support them, but for most, we take on the care of each one personally.
As for our own needs, Craig and I do not take any finances accumulated through Global Ministry Resources (The non-profit organization established to support our ministers in the field.) When we can, we try to take royalties from book sales. For the most part we are personally supported by spiritual children and disciples who are a vital part of our lives. For the rest... we live by faith. God sees and knows our needs and He provides for them, without us needing to splash them all over the place.
So you will not see us sharing our personal financial needs and burdens, no matter how dire they are sometimes! You will not find us demanding your tithe. Rather we make this form available to those who see us as parents, mentors and friends to support us and the work we do for the Lord Jesus, out of a giving heart of love.
